I am not a native of Lubbock, nor even of Texas. I was born and raised in Greenfield, Indiana, spent a couple of years living in Glasgow, Scotland, and then landed in Lubbock where I've been ever since. Have a look!

I'll just get the bus, then...

In honour of petrol prices continuing to skyrocket, here's a photo of a place I expect to spend a great deal of time in the near future.

Our petrol(gas) station give us a discount on last weekend ( 2 days only) and then it shoot up the price more than before.
We still have some discount like 4c/l when you present the receipt form local supermarket. They tied up deal and for call regular customer. We have two group doing this is same way. (Supermarket group A with Shell and supermarket group B with BP). Good to have a little bit of discount, but the base price going up quite rapidly.

Our city, small at best, has four bus stops and they look exactly like your bus stop. Our's are almost always empty too.

Pusa, that is part of my plan. :) Although I think my car has lower emissions than the average bus, so I guess I'll settle for setting a good example.

Ben, we used to have a grocery store in town that did that, but they went out of business ages ago. About the only place to get a discount now is Sam's Club. But I don't have a card.

Abraham, I would use the excuse that they bus had just been by (it had!) but the reality is this particular stop does not see a lot of action. Nor do a lot of others; the busy bus stops are (naturally) in the poorer areas of town.
