This was the last of a fence around a baseball diamond that was torn out.
I am not a native of Lubbock, nor even of Texas. I was born and raised in Greenfield, Indiana, spent a couple of years living in Glasgow, Scotland, and then landed in Lubbock where I've been ever since. Have a look!

Sad to see the 'park' being swept aside. I hope that the replacement is a relaxing and enjoyable place. Here in texas it seems as if the idea of park = baseball diamond with lights and fence.
They did tear out two baseball fields, but unfortunately a fair number of trees and a nice stretch of grass as well. But they left the rest of the park alone, so I suppose I can't complain too much.
